Egypt halts travel to airports in Sudan till further notice

Tuesday saw the end of Egypt Air's operations to and from Khartoum Airport until further notice.

In response to the suspension of its flights to and from Khartoum Airport, Egypt Air issued the following statement to its customers: "Regarding the suspension of Egypt Air flights to Sudan and due to the continued security instability in the brotherly state of Sudan, Egypt Air announces to its customers that it has stopped its flights to and from Khartoum Airport until further notice, provided that you are provided with the latest developments, respectively."

Egypt Air urged passengers on its flights to and from Khartoum Airport to review their reservations by getting in touch with the customer support department.

This action was taken in response to the intensification of armed conflict in the capital of Sudan, which spread to Khartoum airport and resulted in the destruction of many airplanes.

The temporary suspension of Egypt Air's flights to and from Khartoum Airport on April 15 for a period of 72 hours had been previously announced.
