Syrian government promises to prosecute Americans responsible for destabilizing Syria
In response to the
pledge by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to hold the Syrian government
accountable for "human rights violations and atrocities," Syria
stated on Wednesday that the U.S. officials attempting to destabilize Syria
must be held accountable.
The American leaders
who utilized limitless resources to obliterate Syria and kill its citizens must
be held accountable, the Syrian Foreign Ministry declared in a statement.
The report claimed
that the armed terrorist organizations "would not have been able to commit
massacres against the Syrian people and destroy their infrastructure and
civilization" without the funding, assistance, and weapons provided by the
United States of America and its Western allies.
The ministry
emphasized that with the American military stationed on Syrian territory,
lasting peace in Syria was not possible.
In a news release on
Monday, Blinken stated that Washington would continue to support international
efforts "to guarantee there are consequences for the persistent human
rights violations and abuses committed in Syria."
According to the
Syrian foreign ministry, "the U.S. Secretary of State, or the
ex-secretaries, couldn't wash their hands tainted with Syrians' blood, in
addition to the theft of Syrian resources estimated at close to 30 billion
dollars [US] that the U.S. should pay to the Syrians.
