Jenin camp raid: Israeli forces shoot a Palestinian dead and injure six others

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, an Israeli raid on Jenin in the occupied West Bank resulted in the death of one Palestinian and the injuries of six others.

According to sources, a special Israeli military unit and numerous Israeli military vehicles attacked the camp and used live fire throughout the operation, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa. Mateen Dabaya, a 20-year-old Palestinian, was the person shot and killed.

Six individuals were reportedly hurt during the raid, including Khalil Suleiman hospital doctor Abdullah Abu al-Teen, who was seriously hurt while attempting to save the injured.

Teen was initially thought to have died, but he was later revived and is still in a serious state. Israeli incursions across the West Bank have claimed the lives of dozens of Palestinians in recent months.

According to a health ministry toll, two Palestinian youths were killed by gunfire on Saturday during a different operation in Jenin, while a 12-year-old kid passed away on Monday from injuries received last month.

Israeli police are looking for the assailants who killed two soldiers in separate instances last week.

Tuesday saw the death of one soldier close to Nablus, south of Jenin, and Saturday saw the death of another soldier close to the entrance to the Shuafat refugee camp in Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem.

Israeli authorities have been enforcing a rigorous blockade on the area while looking for the gunman, trapping camp residents within, some of whom are unable to exit for life-saving medical care, while many basic commodities are running low.

In Shuafat, the sole refugee camp inside Jerusalem's municipal limits, some 140,000 Palestinians live.

In support of the citizens of Shuafat, Palestinians participated in a day-long general strike earlier this week in the city. Additionally, there have been clashes between Israeli authorities and Palestinians all across East Jerusalem.
