Saudi Arabia sends 35 tons of aid to Syria’s Aleppo
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has sent 35 tons of aid to
Syria to help earthquake victims in the country. A Saudi plane, carrying 35
tons of aid, landed at the Aleppo International Airport in Syria on Tuesday
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the 35 tons of
aid includes food, medical and shelter materials for earthquake victims. The
King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid built the Saudi relief air
bridge to help those affected by the earthquake in Syria and Turkey. The aid
comes in the framework of the Saudi’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of
people affected by the destructive earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
Saudi Arabia has sent eight planes with relief aid to help
those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, according to SPA.
Earlier, two Saudi planes carrying search and rescue teams
and equipment, including tools, pumps, and medical supplies, landed at the
Gaziantep airport in Turkey to help people affected by the earthquake. Saudi
Arabia sent food items, tents, blankets, rugs, shelter bags and medical
supplies to Turkey.
Under the guidance of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, the
Saudi search-and-rescue teams were sent to earthquake-hit areas in Turkey and
Syria in order to evacuate citizens.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center also
launched a fundraising campaign to help earthquake victims. The center would
collect money and receive donations from people to provide shelter, food and
treatment to those affected by the earthquake.
Last week, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Saudi Crown
Prince Mohammed bin Salman directed KSrelief to operate an air bridge for
helping the victims of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake.
They also offered their condolences to people in Turkey and
Syria. They pledged to offer full support to Turkey and Syria in order to
mitigate the suffering of people.
