Transforming National Connectivity

The high-speed train, capable of reaching speeds up to 350 km/h, will reduce travel time between Abu Dhabi and Dubai to just 30 minutes. It aims to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors, boost socioeconomic ties, and contribute to sustainable development across the UAE.

The project reflects the UAE's commitment to innovation, environmental stewardship, and its Net Zero 2050 Strategy, reinforcing the nation’s position as a global leader in smart transportation and sustainable infrastructure.

Economic and Developmental Impact

Expected to contribute AED 145 billion to the UAE's GDP over the next 50 years, the high-speed train will drive business growth, unlock investment opportunities, and bolster tourism. It will also create a seamless travel experience by connecting strategic destinations and integrating with urban and regional transport systems.

Strategic Vision

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed emphasised the project’s role in advancing national infrastructure and promoting sustainability, while His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid highlighted its potential to transform the transport sector and enhance the UAE’s global competitiveness.

Passenger Rail Network Expansion

These stations, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, will integrate with metro and bus networks, offering an efficient and interconnected transport system.

Collaboration and Progress

A Cooperation Charter was signed between Abu Dhabi and Dubai Executive Councils to ensure smooth execution of the project, with tenders issued and designs approved. The announcement also showcased the nation’s first passenger rail fleet, featuring advanced designs and speeds of up to 200 km/h.

This transformative project underscores the UAE's forward-looking vision, fostering innovation, sustainability, and unity while paving the way for a connected, prosperous future.
