As tensions rose in the region after the tanker attack off the coast of Oman, Israel prepares itself for the attack on Iran

Being saturated with the repeated attacks and tanker incidents in Oman, Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz said that their country’s military is ready to take action against Iran, calling it a global and regional problem. The tensions between the two countries continue to rise especially after the critical drone strike last week on the tanker off the coast of Oman which was managed by the Israeli military.

Saying that Iran was behind the attack on the tanker, they provided concrete evidence to their supporting allies to prove the blame. Agreeing with them even, the US and UK also blamed Iran for the attack that killed two people. They were crew members from British and Romania. However, Tehran remain diplomatic in its response and said it would respond decisively if other countries decide to attack its interests.

Talking about the attack on Iran, Defence Minister Gantz mentioned that Israel is ready to engage in a “multi-front” conflict that might include Iran. Since Iran is a global and regional problem and an Israeli challenge, they need to continue to develop their abilities to cope with multiple fronts, for this is the future.

Responding to provoking statement, Saeed Khatibzadeh, who is the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman pointed out that Israel’s military threat is another brazen violation of international law. And they stated clearly any foolish act against Iran will be met with a decisive response.

Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) asserted that countries that threaten Iran especially Israel must develop a realistic understanding of its defensive and offensive capabilities. In their defensive policies and strategies, there is no act, from any enemy at any point and with any scope, that will be tolerable and won’t prompt us to show a strict and decisive response.

Sensing the tension and enmity in the air, in January itself, Israeli Lieutenant General Aviv Kochavi had instructed his forces to step up preparations for possible offensive action against Iran during the coming year.
