Trump considers Bloomberg a less dangerous rival than Sanders

U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters in the White House Oval Office on Tuesday that during the 2020 election, he would have been more willing to compete with New York's former Mayor Michael Bloomberg than with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

“Honestly, I'd rather fight with Bloomberg than Bernie Sanders, because Sanders has real supporters,” Trump is saying. “I find it terrible that he Sanders says,  but he has supporters. Bloomberg is just buying his way to the presidency.”

The US president also spoke out against another Democratic candidate, Joseph Biden.  In particular, he criticized the election campaign of the former US vice president, describing it as "stumbling" and "muttering."

On February 11, the Democrats' primaries in New Hampshire took place.  According to the results of processing 97% of the ballots, NBC Broadcasting Company predicts that Sanders won by a small margin, gaining 25.9% of the vote.  Ex-Mayor of South Bend Pete Buttagej is in second place with 24.4% of the vote.  The third place (19.8%) is occupied by Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar and the fourth (9.3%) is by Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.  Biden, who for several months was considered the leader of the Democratic election race, is still in fifth place with 8.4%.  Bloomberg did not participate in the primary elections in New Hampshire.

The primaries in New Hampshire are the first in the current election cycle in the United States and serve as a barometer of the mood of voters in the north-east of the country.  They select delegates who at the upcoming national congresses of the Republican and Democratic Parties will support one or another candidate for the presidential candidate from the party.  The US presidential election will be held on November 3.
