UAE Strongly Condemns Attacks on Displacement Camps and Aid Workers in Sudan

In a powerful statement reaffirming its commitment to international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians, the United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the recent violent attacks on displacement camps and aid workers in Sudan. These tragic incidents have intensified global concern over the deepening humanitarian crisis in the war-torn nation.

According to reports, the attacks have targeted vulnerable communities and humanitarian personnel providing critical life-saving assistance in Sudan’s conflict-affected regions. Civilians, including women and children, have been displaced, injured, and in some cases, killed. Aid organizations have expressed alarm over the increasing risks faced by their teams on the ground.

In an official statement, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the assaults as a “blatant violation of international humanitarian norms” and called for an immediate cessation of violence. The UAE emphasized the need for all parties involved in the Sudanese conflict to adhere to their obligations under international law, particularly those that protect civilians and humanitarian workers during armed conflict.

“The UAE reiterates the importance of safeguarding the lives of civilians and ensuring the secure and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid,” the ministry said. “Such attacks only worsen the plight of those already suffering and obstruct the global effort to provide relief and stability in Sudan.”

The UAE has been an active humanitarian partner in Sudan, providing food aid, medical supplies, and financial assistance to displaced families and affected communities. The country’s condemnation also reflects its broader foreign policy approach that stresses conflict resolution through diplomacy, peacebuilding, and multilateral cooperation.

International observers, including the United Nations and various NGOs, have echoed the UAE’s concerns and urged the global community to step up efforts to protect aid workers and vulnerable populations in Sudan. With the situation growing more volatile, urgent diplomatic intervention and increased humanitarian access are now more critical than ever.

As the crisis unfolds, the UAE’s call to action adds to the global chorus demanding accountability and the protection of those working on the frontlines of one of the world’s most pressing humanitarian disasters.
