 Dubai has marked a groundbreaking milestone by launching the Middle East’s first-of-its-kind drone delivery system, reinforcing the emirate’s reputation as a global leader in innovation and futuristic technologies.



Pioneering Smart Logistics

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, unveiled the initiative aimed at revolutionizing urban mobility and logistics. The system is set to transform delivery services, particularly for medicines and parcels, while enhancing Dubai’s position as a hub for smart solutions and advanced infrastructure.

The launch event, attended by high-ranking officials and industry leaders, took place at the Rochester Institute of Technology - Dubai, one of the initial locations in the delivery network.

  • Drone Delivery Services Initiated:
    Dubai has officially launched its first licensed drone delivery services, focusing on medicine and parcel deliveries.

  • First Licensing by DCAA:
    The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) awarded the inaugural license to Keeta Drone for operations at Dubai Silicon Oasis.

  • Strategic Delivery Routes:
    The system currently operates four initial delivery routes, including prominent locations such as:

    • Rochester Institute of Technology
    • Dubai Digital Park
    • Fakeeh University Hospital
  • Future Expansion Goals:
    The plan envisions expanding drone delivery coverage to 33% of Dubai by 2030, aligning with the emirate’s broader urban development strategy.

  • Dubai Economic Agenda D33:
    This initiative directly supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, aiming to position Dubai among the top three global economic cities.

  • Partnerships and Innovation:
    Partnerships with leading organizations like Fakeeh University Hospital and Americana are exploring diverse applications of drone technology to enhance urban logistics.

  • Rigorous Testing for Safety:
    The delivery system has undergone 18 months of extensive testing to ensure the highest standards of safety and reliability.
