Saudi : Cyprus bridge between Europe, Middle East

 

While reading on the Middle East news today, I’ve read that Saudi Arabia views Cyprus as a “bridge” betweenthe Middle East and the European Union.

This is interesting to know of a small nation like Cyprus potentially being able to play such a big role between two continents.

Saudi’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, speaking after talks with his Cypriot counterpart Ioannis Kasoulides, said that Cyprus helps “really focus the attention” on all the opportunities and challenges in the Middle East.

Saudi top diplomat said both his country and Cyprus have a “very, very strong alignment” regarding regional stability and terrorism “whether it is (Yemen’s) Houthis or others.”

He said both countries agree in the primacy of international law.
