Qatar And Kuwait Serious About International Maritime Security Concerns

Proving their point of view, that they had nothing to do with the sabotage of the Saudi Arabian oil facilities, Qatar has joined the International Maritime Security Construct (IMSC) led by the United States.

Qatar and Kuwait have together informed the US that they will join a US-led naval coalition in the Gulf which was established in response to a series of attacks on oil tankers, a US military official.

The attack has been said to have been instigated by Iran which is an allegation that Tehran has denied.  Strangely, Qatar had been implicated in hiding crucial intelligence which was indicative of a forthcoming attack on oil facilities in some oil-rich countries in the middle east.

The other countries to have joined the coalition include Albania, Australia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the UK. From the EU lot, France is also concerned about the spearheading a European-led mission independent of the US-led maritime initiative, which some European countries feared would make US-Iranian tensions worse.

Qatar has been accused of withholding important information crucial to international security and peace. This was discovered by French intelligence and a detailed report was shared with the UK and Germany as well. Most EU nations have been wary of Qatar’s intentions of withholding such crucial intel and have asked for an explanation for its ‘selfish actions’. Qatar has refused to be in possession of any such intelligence.
