Burkina Faso

The armed conflict in Burkina Faso has affected the lives of people. Recently, fifteen people were killed, including nine soldiers, in coordinated jihadi attacks in the northern region of the country.

The military junta, which overthrew a democratically elected government in January, is struggling to control the violence in the country.

Mali

Recently, 30 soldiers were wounded in the three attacks in Mali that were claimed by Katiba Macina, a militant Islamist group led by Amadou Kouffa. The conflict has also affected the peace and security of the country.

Ethiopia

The armed conflict is still going on in Ethiopia. The conflict was initiated by the TPLF (Tigray People's Liberation Movement) in November 2020.

The country is at war in the Tigray region. This war is now strangling the region. The humanitarian problems in the Tigray Region are also serious due to a lack of food supplies, fuel, and medical facilities. Recent peace initiatives have not helped the country to secure peace in the region.

Sudan

Clashes between rival groups in Sudan’s Darfur region have also affected the country. In a recent attack, at least 170 people died. The armed tribesmen attacked villages of the non-Arab Massalit minority.

Nigeria

Violence is also prevalent in many parts of Nigeria. Recently, 17 people were killed in attacks across northern Nigeria. Reportedly, fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) group were responsible for the recent violence. They rounded up nine people in a bar and slaughtered them.
