Urgent need for the US to reinstate Houthis as a terrorist organization

The desperation with which Houthi rebel group is attackingthe Arab region and spreading extreme violence should be wake up call for the United States to announce the group as an international terrorist organization.

Lebanese journalist and anchorwoman, Maria Maalouf stressed that it is an urgent need for the Biden administration to act on the attacks that the group has been carrying on the neighboring countries as it threatens the human rights situation.

Putting human lives at risk for personal gains should never be encouraged and if the US delays the announcement any further, it would mean that it has been neglecting the importance of people.

At a press conference called by the United States president Joe Biden after he completed one year in the White House, he stated that the officials are still considering the decision of once again designating the Houthis as the international terrorist organization.

He was still not sure of the decision so the president avoided to talk in length about it but the fact that Houthis are not fearful of the acts that they have been doing proves that they are not backing down from the aggression they have been carrying out in the region.

The journalist in the interview highlighted the impact of decision taken by the United States as only after it removed Houthis from the list of universal terror groups, offenses grew in the region, further worsening the condition of Yemen.
