Iran will no more tolerate Trump’s approach towards nuclear deal, Iranian official

Iran has warned the United States along with other relevant countries that it will no longer tolerate former US president Donald Trump’s approach towards handling the nuclear deal and if provoked, it will only lead to ‘maximum failure’.

The spokesperson of the foreign ministry of Iran emphasized that whatever the former president did and how he conducted things with Iran, if the present US administration continues to work on the same lines, it will not benefit their ties rather result in maximum failure.

Saeed Khatibzadeh, the spokesperson of the ministry, was addressing a weekly press conference on Monday when he stressed that when the US comes to Vienna this time, it should come with a real agenda and not to push things further.

He also noted that this time, the US should focus on continuing to revive the 2015 nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) while also fulfilling its commitments taken as the oath under the agreement. "This is the sole way contributing to the restoration of the JCPOA," he stressed.

Earlier, the special envoy from the US, Robert Malley, has said that Iran is continuing to postpone the talks and the US can not wait forever, to which, the Iranian official replied saying that it was not Iran rather the US that withdrew from the agreement and violated the clauses in the deal.

Unlike before, the Iranian administration is stricter with its requirements from the deal. The president of the country is an ultra conservationist which is making it furthermore difficult for the US administration to come to terms with the demands of Iran.

President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian have already made it very clear that they want their demands to be fulfilled and also want to witness the US working to safeguard the interests of Iranians and only then it will agree for the revival of the nuclear deal.

Just like the US envoy for Iran, Iranian official also warned the US administration that the opportunity to make amends will only be there till a limited period of time and during this time, the US officials must find out a way to fulfill their commitments under the deal.
